  • Mary Cushing
    Textile Artist
Mary is a textile artist based in East Sussex. She creates naturally dyed fabrics using foraged plants, food scraps, and flowers grown in her own dye garden. Every part of her process is thoughtful and connected to nature.

She has always had a deep love for textiles and a strong interest in working sustainably. During her creative journey, caring for the environment has remained at the heart of her practice. Mary's work is shaped by the natural world around her - she gathers plants from nearby fields and gardens, letting the seasons and what's growing at the time guide her ideas and colours.

Her textiles are all made with attention to detail and a respect for natural processes and her work celebrates slow making, sustainable methods, and the rich, earthy tones that come from using plant-based dyes.
